Benefits Of Gamification...
Engagement The learner can experience “fun” during the game and still learn if the level of engagement is high. A good gamification strategy with high levels of engagement will lead to an increase in recall and retention. Effective environment Gamification in eLearning provides an effective, informal learning environment, and helps learners practice real life situations and challenges in a safe environment. This leads to a more engaged learning experience that facilitates better knowledge retention. Feedback It provides instant feedback so that learners know what they know or what they should know. This too facilitates better learner engagement and thereby better recall and retention. Behavioral Change Points, badges, and leaderboards would surely make training awesome. However, gamification is about a lot more than just those surface level benefits. Gamification can drive strong behavioral change especially when combined with the scientific principles of repeated retrieval and spaced Repetition Needed for most learning needs. Gamification can be used to fulfill most learning needs including induction and onboarding, product sales, customer support, soft skills, awareness creation, and compliance. Impact On account of all these aspects that touch and impact learners (better learning experience, higher recall and retention, catalyzing behavioral change, and so on), it can create a significant performance gain for organizations. Training Providers Should Consider Gamification In E-Learning Courses Three reasons why... 1. Challenge learners. Learners love to be challenged. Challenge them by using multiple variables in each question so that they have to weigh up options and make tradeoffs. Working with multiple variables makes players consider cause-and-effect relationships, weigh multiple options, and prioritize their efforts. 2. Keep score and track results with meaningful values. Don’t just use points; instead, chose something meaningful. For example, if you’re conducting training for your customer service team, use satisfaction level as the value to keep score. This makes it easier for learners to relate to the scenarios because the score or points system is related to their job. 3. Unlock new levels when sections are complete. Like in a game, consider locking levels or chapters in the online training so that levels only open up when the learner has successfully completed a number of set tasks. Captivate, Presenter, Articulate & Storyline are tools which can help you attain these recordings.

Adobe Captivate Draft - One of the new features in Adobe Captivate 9 is the addition of a pre-production workflow for Captivate. In fact with the addition of Adobe Captivate Draft for pre-production design and storyboarding, and the addition of Adobe Captivate Prime (an all new LMS from Adobe) it is now possible to complete your entire eLearning production experience using the Adobe eLearning solutions. Adobe Captivate Draft provides a simple, intuitive way for course authors to quickly draft such storyboards using only a finger and an iPad. It’s a mobile friendly, collaborative, and incredibly expedient way to rapidly develop your ideas and map out the design of your eLearning course. Last year the sale of smartphones exceeded the sale of traditional phones; the sale of tablets exceeded those of desktop computers. This trend has led to a need for eLearning developers to create courses that can be accessed from both mobile and desktop devices. The size of the screen that learners use to access eLearning lessons can vary widely. Consider the size of a typical mobile phone compared to the various shapes and sizes of tablets such as the iPad, Microsoft Surface, and Amazon Kindle Fire. You could develop several Projects that contain the same content, but are sized to work on specific devices; however, the problem is that you’d have to edit and update several projects! Who wants to do that? Additionally, who could possibly consider every screen size for every device? Even if you could build lessons for every screen size known today… What about the screen sizes for devices that have yet to be invented? As an alternative to managing multiple projects, you can now create a single, responsive project that provides optimal viewing, and an effective learning experience, across a wide range of devices and screen sizes. Responsive design is an approach to development that allows for flexible layouts and flexible images and assets. While the word responsive was traditionally used for building web pages, responsive design can be used to develop online courses that detect the learner’s screen size and orientation, and automatically change what the learner sees.
